Ronni & David’s B’nai Mitzvah

Early in 2012, Ronni and David’s parents hired talented event planner Julie Cohen (it Events) to orchestrate an out-of-the box mitzvah party with lots of fun elements for both kids and adults. Julie brought the parents Tami & Perry to Broken Sound Club as it suited their vision for a South Beach inspired function.

To enhance the Club’s look, Julie hired Dalsimer-Atlas Florists and Event Decorators to design a fun, fresh and unique look. The colors they chose were green, blue and white. The talented Dalsimer team created a dramatic entrance that incorporated bamboo and lots of draping that escorted the guests all the way to the Cocktail Reception held on the Patio. Inside the Ballroom three different looks were alternated using blue and green hydrangeas, cymbidium orchids, etc. as you can admire in the photos below. In addition to the standard round tables, the Dalsimer design team opted to use their custom square tufted tables that added a twist to the room’s look. The Club’s dancefloor was customized with a white  glossy covering that was accented by a Gobo light. LED uplighting enhanced the entire look and transformed the venue into a South Beach splendor. The sounds of Full Throttle combined with Powerhouse kept both kids and adults on the dancefloor the entire night.

During the cocktail hour, the adults enjoyed a multitude of exquisite butler passed hors d’oeuvres and fabulous custom cocktails. As for the dinner reception, the fun feel of the event was transposed in the presentation of the food stations, while the menu selections remained refined. A cold soup trio greeted each guest at their place setting. The reception stations included items such as Oven Roasted Beef Tenderloin, Chicken Rollatini, Kobe Beef Sliders, Truffle Mac & Cheese, Authentic Sushi & Sashimi. The sweet ending to the evening consisted of butler passed confections and a modernized Viennese Table that was composed of a variety of delicate pastries, treats and chocolate fountains.

Kate & Cedric

Kate & Cedric’s wedding reception was an elegant and fun affair that was in the planning, as most weddings for over a year. Kate wanted to cater to his French fiancee, and add a European flair to the memorable night. To achieve that the bride & groom hired the versatile Heatwave Band, and Xquisite Events as their decorator and florist.

Kate chose this wedding season’s predominant color (purple), while adding a hint of fuchsia to spice things up. Nancy Gilbert of Xquisite Events designed a splendid, soft and romantic, yet edgy ceremony for Kate & Cedric. As an innovative touch, the firepit located behind Broken Sound Club’s Main Clubhouse was covered and the chuppah mounted on top, allowing the guests a great view of the ceremony. For the Ballroom, Nancy chose crinkled taffeta linens accented by silver candelabras, and lots of colorful florals.

Towards the end of the party, to keep the excitement high, the couple chose to hire Angela Spera of Event Studio Pro to provide stilt-walkers and dancers as a last hurah of the fabulous night.

Special thanks to Jeff Kolodny of Jeff Kolodny Photography for the fabulous shots for everyone to admire.

Alana’s Bat Mitzvah

Alana’s Bat Mitzvah celebration was orchestrated by premier event planner Linzi Etzion of Linzi Events. Linzi’s knowledge of the venue made the planning process a delight. Her vision was effortlessly brought alive by Joel of the Five Star Event Group, who took Alana’s desired theme of horsebackriding to new heights. Alana, an accomplished equestrian, was surprised and impressed by the authentic horse jump decorated with flowers, as well as the custom prize rosettes pinned to the back of each chair. Round and royal tables were alternated to assure an intimate, yet fun feel to the event. The exquisite embroidered linens were accented by Broken Sound Club’s house Antique Gold Chargers and hedge-style floral centerpieces created by Five Star Events Group.

Special thanks to Linzi for another memorable collaboration and to Munoz Photography for the courtesy of their photographs.

Sarah & Jacques

This adorable couple had two parties, one at The Old Course at Broken Sound Club that included the religious ceremony and a great reception for their family and friends, and another in Wisconsin for their friends.

Sarah & Jacques wanted a fun, yet elegant affair and relied on Broken Sound Club’s team for the planning of the event. Much of the planning was done through phone conferences, and emails. Sarah chose Xquisite Events for the decor, Cantor Debbi Ballaard to officiate and Rock with U to DJ the party. She could have not made better choices.

Rose MacArthur of Xquisite Events designed the couple a colorful, breathtaking chuppah that had the guests talking, as well as stunning floral arrangements for the reception hall. While the Cantor had everyone in tears, the talented bunch from Rock with U had those tears wiped away in minutes after entering the party room. Their energetic vibe made it into a fabulous night.

The cocktail reception menu consisted of sixteen delicious hors d’oeuvres, and the dinner that followed was just as plentiful. The guests had a choice of Chicken Francaise, Grilled Twelve Ounce Black Angus New York Strip Steak or Sicilian Style Rack of Domestic Lamb Caponata.  As a sweet ending, the ladies enjoyed a Mile High Key Lime Pie, to add a Floridian feel, whereas the gentlemen delighted themselves with Broken Sound’s signature Carrot Cake. The Wedding Cake was a family tradition, a Hungarian Dobos Torte. Limelight Photography skillfully captured every moment of this fantastic day.

Black / White Gala

Our Season Opening Gala had an edgy theme this past year. Guests dressed in black and white walked down the black carpet greeted by energetic dancers from Event Studio Pro rocking out to Michael Jackson’s “Black or White.”

The ballroom was transformed into a monochromatic, magical landscape by the talented team of Xquisite Events. Their black and white mezzo vases were adorned by artificial floral sculptures that left the guests in awe and disbelief. The linens chosen to compliment the look were a floral patterned cloth from BBJ linens.

Xquisite Events also provided fun backdrops for the entertainment, and covered the house dancefloor with a white glossy adhesive, which the guests loved.

House black and white acrylic charger plates, and blue LED lighting further enhanced the mood of the room.

Photographs taken by Broken Sound Club’s staff.
